Okay, so today I wanted to dig into some baseball stats. Specifically, I wanted to compare player stats from a Houston Astros and San Francisco Giants game. Let’s see how I did it.

Getting Started
First, I needed to find a game. It could be any game, a recent one, or even one from the past. So I just went online, and try to find a box score for a game between the Astros and the Giants.
Finding the Data
I found some websites that had box scores with detailed player information. They listed all the usual stuff – batting averages, RBIs, home runs, strikeouts, all that. I just picked a random game that looked good to get started.
Getting into Details
Once I had my box score, I really started to look at individual players. For example:
- Batting:Who had the most hits? Who struck out the most? Were there any home runs?
- Pitching:How many innings did each pitcher throw? How many runs did they allow? Did anyone get a lot of strikeouts?
Making Comparisons
After collect all of data I needed. It’s my turn to analyze them.
For example, I could compare the starting pitchers. Did one have a much better day than the other? Or, I can compare star players from each team. Which one had a bigger impact on the game?
My Result
I put all of my finding into a simple note. I also created some simple data sheet to made those information more clear, that helps to see differences between the teams and players. This kind of comparison is helpful for understanding how specific players contributed to a game.
Overall, it was a pretty fun process, and give me a way deeper understanding of the match!
