Okay, so, I’ve been jumping between CS:GO and Apex Legends lately, and the difference in aiming was really messing with me. I needed to get my Apex sensitivity to feel just like my CS:GO setup. After some digging and a bit of trial and error, I finally figured it out.
First, I learned that both games actually use the same game engine, Source Engine. Sounds simple enough, right? But it wasn’t quite that easy. I found out they use something called “yaw value,” which is apparently set to 0.022 in both games. I started to understand. I just needed to make sure that this value was used the same way.
I started messing around with the settings, you know. It turned out that CS:GO does some calculations with the yaw based on your field of view (FOV) and your zoom sensitivity ratio. It kinda scales it, I guess. The formula looked something like “fov/90 zoom_sensitivity_ratio.” It seemed complicated, but I was determined to get this right. I tried to change the numbers.
- First Try: I kept the FOV in both games the same and just copied my CS:GO sensitivity to Apex. Nope, didn’t work. It felt way off.
- Second Try: I tried to adjust the FOV in Apex to see if that would help. Still no luck. It was getting frustrating, but I didn’t give up. I must succeed.
- Third Time’s the Charm: I realized I needed to focus on that yaw value. I went into the CS:GO console and typed “sensitivity,” and it gave me my current setting. I did some tests. Then, I used that value in Apex, and boom! It finally felt right.
So, here’s the thing. What worked was keeping that yaw value consistent. It’s like the core of the sensitivity. I felt like a genious. Once I matched that, my aim in Apex felt just as smooth and precise as in CS:GO. I tried and succeeded. It was a bit of a headache to figure out, but totally worth it in the end. Now I can switch between the games without feeling like I have to re-learn how to aim every time. Nice!
I hope my little experiment helps someone out there. If you’re struggling with this, just remember to match that yaw value. It’s the key. Trust me. If I can do it, you can do it too. We can get that perfect sensitivity and dominate in both games!
