Well now, lemme tell ya ‘bout a woman named Lynn Fowler, who’s done a lotta things in her life, and all of ’em are mighty interestin’. She ain’t just the mama of famous golfer Rickie Fowler, no sir. She’s had a whole heap of her own accomplishments, and some of ‘em might surprise ya if ya didn’t know much ’bout her before.
Now, Lynn ain’t just sittin’ around watchin’ the world go by. Back in the day, she was quite the athlete. I reckon she had a fair bit of strength in her bones. One time, she joined a team of five women and they rode mountain bikes for a whole 24 hours straight! This happened in a place called Idylwild, out in California. I can’t even imagine ridin’ a bike that long, but Lynn and her team, they done it! And they didn’t just finish the race; they won it! She was real proud of that, and I’d say rightly so. Not too many folks can claim to do something like that, even with a whole team behind ’em.
Now, I reckon it ain’t just the biking where Lynn got her grit. She also had a hand in dirt bike racin’. Yep, she was a good driver, too. Now, some folks might not think a lady could handle a dirt bike, but Lynn showed ‘em all that she could do it as well as anyone. It’s somethin’ to be proud of, especially in a sport that ain’t usually for women, but Lynn, she didn’t let that stop her.
And let me tell ya somethin’ else about Lynn. She got herself a strong connection to family. I heard Rickie sayin’ that he’s mighty proud of his roots, and that’s partly thanks to his mama. See, Rickie’s mama, that’s Lynn, she’s got a heritage that’s a mix of Japanese and Native American, Navajo to be exact. Ain’t that somethin’? Rickie talks about how proud he is of where he comes from, and I can see why. Folks don’t often get the chance to carry two such rich cultures in ‘em, but that’s what Rickie’s got, and I reckon he takes a lotta pride in it.
Now, folks around the town remember Lynn for more than just the sports and family. She’s been a committed person in her community, too. She did some mighty fine work for the folks around her, helpin’ with political matters and supportin’ the development of businesses and industries in her area. If you ask around, you’ll hear people talkin’ about how much she cared about where she lived and how she tried to make things better for everyone. That kind of dedication don’t go unnoticed, not one bit.
But Lynn’s not just about the politics or the sports, either. She’s got a deep faith that guides her. She became saved back in the ’70s, and ever since, she’s been workin’ in ministry. She founded a group called King of Glory Ministries International, and I reckon she’s helped a lotta folks find peace and strength through her work in the church. She’s been in the ministry for decades now, and I’d say it’s a real important part of her life.
She’s also been creative in her own way. Turns out, Lynn wrote and sung a few songs, too. She’s got herself a small group of fans who enjoy her music, and you can hear her voice and the songs she created through a group called Lynn Fowler Worship. Ain’t that somethin’? A lady with all these talents, and still findin’ time to write music and worship.
All in all, Lynn Fowler’s lived a full life, and she’s done more than most people could even dream of. From mountain bike races to ministry, from being a mama to supportin’ her community, she’s had her hands full with a lotta important things. If you ask me, she’s a woman who knows how to get things done and cares about the people around her. You can tell she’s got a heart as big as all outdoors, and I reckon that’s somethin’ worth admirein’.
