Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Stephen Amell brony” thing pop up, and I got curious. First, I had no clue what a “brony” was. Turns out, it’s a dude who’s really into My Little Pony. Yeah, the cartoon with the colorful horses.
So, I started digging. I watched some clips of this show called “Peacemaker.” Apparently, there’s a scene where John Cena’s character, Peacemaker, makes a joke about Green Arrow, who is played by Stephen Amell in another show, being a brony.
Then, I found some interviews. One was with this guy, Chris Van Vliet, and he was talking to Stephen Amell. Amell didn’t seem too happy about that joke. He got a bit defensive, I guess. He said something along the lines of, like, he didn’t like the joke, but, you know, whatever.
- I watched a bunch of YouTube videos. Mostly interviews and some reactions to the Peacemaker show.
- I read some articles, too. They were mostly about the whole drama around the joke and Amell’s reaction. Lots of people had opinions.
So, here’s the deal: I watched the scene in Peacemaker, and I kind of get why Amell might be annoyed. It’s a pretty direct jab, even if it’s just a joke.
I also started looking into this whole “brony” subculture. It’s… interesting. I watched some of those “My Little Pony” episodes. They’re not terrible, I guess, but not really my thing. I mean, horses with magical powers and stuff, not exactly my usual type of entertainment.
So, I tried to piece together Amell’s reaction from different interviews. It seems like he’s not a fan of the joke, but he’s trying to play it cool.
Then there’s James Gunn, the guy who made “Peacemaker.” I found out that there is some history between the two of them, because of some old tweets and stuff, but I didn’t dig too deep into that.
My Final Thoughts
Honestly, the whole thing seems kind of silly. It’s a joke in a TV show, and it blew up into this whole online drama. I guess fans of both shows got really into it. But, at the end of the day, it’s just entertainment.
I went down this rabbit hole, and now I’m back out. I’m not a brony, I don’t think Green Arrow is a brony, and I’m pretty sure Stephen Amell isn’t either. Case closed.
