So, I wanted to check out the new Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. First off, I did a bit of digging online ’cause I wasn’t sure what to expect. Turns out, there’s no real dress code. You can just rock up in whatever you’re comfortable in. I was carrying my backpack, and yeah, security did a quick check, but it was no biggie.
Once I got inside, I was pretty impressed. It is a big stadium, they said can fit up to 5,000 people, all with air-con, which is a lifesaver in Bangkok’s heat. I saw a lot of people walking around.
Now, about the tickets. I learned there are three types, but if you really want to soak it all in, ringside is the way to go. I ended up grabbing a seat there, and it was awesome! I had to get a bit of elbow grease to grab a seat, but eventually, I made it. Great view of all the action.
- Getting a Ticket: I bought mine at the stadium.
- Finding a Seat: It was a bit crowded, but I managed to find a good spot.
- Enjoying the Fights: The fights were intense! Everyone was super into it, cheering and all.
Throughout the matches, there were folks walking around selling drinks and snacks, which was pretty convenient. I grabbed a beer and some chips to munch on while watching the fights. It was a Tuesday when I went, and apparently, that’s when they have these traditional Muay Thai matches. I heard that they are going to hold a big fight on Jan 10, 2025, maybe I will come back again!
Honestly, this place almost shut down once, but it’s back and better than ever. If you’re in Bangkok, you gotta check out a Muay Thai fight here. I mean, experiencing the energy of a live match is something else. I was a bit worried at first, but everything turned out great. I took some photos and videos for memory.
Wrapping up my day at Lumpinee, I felt pretty good. It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. So yeah, if you’re looking for something to do in Bangkok, put this on your list!
My whole day was great. Even though I was a bit nervous at the start, everything turned out to be just fine. I am happy that I finally made it to Lumpinee!
