Okay, so, I’ve been digging into this whole Commanders and Titans thing, right? And man, it’s been a journey. So, the other day, I was like, “I gotta figure out who’s played for both of these teams.” Sounds simple enough, but trust me, it turned into a whole thing.
First, I started with a basic search. You know, just typing in “players who played for Commanders and Titans” into the search bar. And boom, a bunch of stuff popped up. But it was all scattered, like, one site had a few names, another had some different ones. It was a mess.
So then, I decided I needed to get organized. I grabbed a notebook – yeah, I’m old school like that – and started making a list. I went through each site, one by one, jotting down every name I could find. It took forever, man. My hand was cramping up, and my eyes were getting all blurry.
After hours of this, I finally had a pretty decent list. But then I was like, “Wait a minute, some of these guys are probably retired, and some are still playing.” So, back to the search engine I went. I started looking up each player individually, trying to figure out if they were still active or not. Some of them were easy to find, others, not so much. It was like a scavenger hunt.
Once I had that sorted, I wanted to see who the top dogs were, you know? The guys who really made a difference on both teams. So, I stumbled upon this “Approximate Value” thing. Apparently, it’s some kind of stat that shows how good a player is. Don’t ask me how it works, but it seemed legit. I used that to rank the players on my list.
- Ken Houston, this Hall of Famer guy, he played for both teams and had some pretty high Approximate Value numbers. He was like, the top of the top.
- Then there was this dude Cris Dishman. He spent most of his time with the Titans but also had a couple of seasons with the Commanders. His numbers were pretty good too.
- I also found out that Ernest Givins is the Titans’ all-time receiving yards leader.
Oh, and I also checked out some game results between the two teams. Apparently, they played each other in Week 14 of the 2024 season, and the Commanders won 42-19. They are also favored to win in their next game. I guess they’ve been doing pretty well lately.
Anyway, after all that digging, I finally had a good understanding of the whole Commanders-Titans player connection. It was way more work than I expected, but hey, I learned a lot. And now I can share it all with you guys. Hope you find it as interesting as I did!
Side note
It was a real pain to do all of this manually. I wish there was a single website or something that had all this info in one place. Maybe I’ll build one someday. Who knows?
