Alright, so I got really into this whole EA Sports College Football 25 thing and wanted to see which high schools would be featured. You know, just for kicks and giggles, to see if my old stomping grounds made the cut. It’s been a while since I was in high school, but hey, a guy can dream, right?
So, first things first, I started digging around to see what information was out there. I knew EA Sports announced something about the teams, but I wanted the nitty-gritty details. Initially, I came across this blurb saying that all 135 FBS eligible schools are going to be in the game. Cool, cool. But that’s not exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to know about the high schools.
Then, I noticed that a bunch of FBS programs were posting custom cover art for College Football 25 on Twitter. They were basically confirming that their school was in the game. That got me thinking, maybe there’s a trend here. Maybe if I look closely, I can piece together some information about the high schools.
I kept on digging and found out that EA Sports said all 134 FBS teams would be part of the game, which means all 10 FBS conferences. Power 5, Group of 5, you name it. The only teams not in the game at launch are FCS and HBCU teams. Okay, that’s something. But still not the high school info I was craving.
Then I stumbled upon this interesting tidbit about Dynasty mode. Apparently, this is where you’ll get your first chance to use the new teams. I’m not much of a gamer these days, but back in the day, I loved playing Dynasty mode. Ah, the memories.
I also read something about different player types in the game – Underdog, Elite, Blue Chip. And it talked about mental abilities and skill points. Honestly, it went a little over my head, but it sounds pretty detailed, like they really put some thought into it.
Then there’s this other thing I found about Texas having the most FBS college football teams. Thirteen, to be exact! That’s a lot. Apparently, Sam Houston moved up from the FCS level, which explains why Texas has so many now. Not really relevant to my high school search, but interesting nonetheless.
Here’s the thing, though. While all this information about the college teams is cool and all, I still couldn’t find a definitive list of high schools that would be featured in the game. It seems like EA Sports is focusing on the college teams for now. Maybe they’ll release more information about high schools later on. Or maybe it’s just wishful thinking on my part.
So, here’s where I’m at:
- EA Sports confirmed 135 FBS eligible schools are in the game.
- FBS programs are posting custom cover art on Twitter, confirming their inclusion.
- All 134 FBS teams and 10 conferences are in.
- FCS and HBCU teams are not in the game at launch.
- Dynasty mode will be the first chance to use new teams.
- There are different player types with varying skill points.
- Texas has the most FBS teams with 13.
- No clear information on which high schools are included.
So yeah, that’s my journey so far. It’s been a bit of a wild goose chase, but hey, it’s been fun. I’m still holding out hope that they’ll eventually reveal some high school information. Until then, I guess I’ll just have to keep dreaming about my old high school making it into the game.
