Okay, let’s talk about this wrestler named Nikki Storm. I stumbled upon her name while browsing some wrestling forums, and man, was I intrigued. She’s got this wild, untamed energy that just pulls you in. So, I decided to do a deep dive into her career and see what she’s all about.
First thing I did was hit up some of the big wrestling sites to get the basic info. Turns out her real name is Nicola Glencross, but she goes by Nikki Cross now, or maybe its just her preferred name, I don’t know. She was born on April 21, 1989, in Glasgow, Scotland. That’s pretty cool, a Scottish lass kicking butt in the ring! I found out she’s been wrestling since 2008, so she’s definitely no rookie.
Next, I started looking for videos of her matches. I wanted to see this “Storm” in action. I found a bunch of her matches from different promotions, including some from her time in Japan. She’s wrestled against some big names like Io Shirai and Hanako Nakamori. Watching those matches, I could see why people are so hyped about her. She’s got this high-flying, hard-hitting style that’s just mesmerizing. I swear I watched her match against Io Shirai from July 19, 2015, like five times in a row. It was that good!.
- May 5th, 2013 vs. Hanako Nakamori – This was my intro to Nikki Storm. Talk about a fast-paced, intense match!
- May 17th, 2015 vs. Io Shirai – An absolute clinic in technical wrestling. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
- June 14th, 2015 with Star Fire vs. Io Shirai and Mayu Iwatani – Tag team action! This one was a wild brawl.
I also found some of her matches from SHIMMER, an all-female wrestling promotion. She had some great matches there against people like Kaori Yoneyama and Mia Yim. In the match against Mia Yim, I learned they’ve wrestled twice before within the past year or so. She even competed in a tournament and had a killer match against Shanna. I was rooting for Nikki, but Shanna was just too good that day. They said “Shanna and Nikki Storm have both overcome difficult opponents to get to this spot, but only one of them will make it all the worthwhile by walking away with the trophy.” I guess Nikki didn’t make it.
After watching all those matches, I was hooked. I had to know more about her. I dug deeper and found out that she spent some time in WWE’s development territory from 2016 to 2019. They tagged her as “Nikki Cross” there, which I guess is where she got the name. It’s always interesting to see how wrestlers evolve when they go through WWE.
Putting it all together
So, after all this digging and watching, what’s my take on Nikki Storm/Cross? She’s a force of nature in the ring. She’s got the skills, the charisma, and that “it” factor that makes you want to see her succeed. Whether she’s flying through the air, delivering bone-jarring strikes, or just being her wild, unpredictable self, she’s always entertaining. I can see why she’s got such a dedicated following, and I’m definitely one of them now. I’ll be keeping an eye on her career for sure, and I can’t wait to see what she does next!
