Okay, so, today I wanted to talk about this guy, Bruce McMahon. You know, the big shot from WWE? I came across this documentary about him on Netflix, and it’s just wild. I mean, the guy’s life is like a movie itself.
First off, I started by watching this docuseries called “Mr. McMahon.” They say it’s based on over 100 hours of interviews. Imagine that! It’s not just with him but also with his family and the folks close to him. That’s a lot of talking, right? So, I put on my comfy pants, grabbed some snacks, and started watching.
They said the director, Chris Smith, had to go through like 200 hours of interviews. Not only with McMahon, but wrestlers and people around the wrestling world. I was thinking, “Man, that’s a lot of footage to sift through!” But I guess that’s what it takes to tell a story this big.
Digging Deeper
After watching the docuseries, I wanted more. You know how it is when you get hooked on something. I found out that there’s this guy named Bruce Prichard, who used to be McMahon’s “right-hand man” behind the scenes. He even wrote for some of WWE’s shows. Interesting, right? I started reading up on him, too.
The Early Days
- I learned that McMahon wasn’t always the wrestling kingpin.
- Back in ’68, he graduated from East Carolina University with a business degree.
- He even worked as a traveling salesman for a while. Can you believe it?
McMahon’s got this reputation for being, you know, tough and all. But this documentary, and all the stuff I read, it showed a different side of him. It’s like peeling an onion, you know? Layers and layers.
The whole thing is just fascinating. I mean, who knew that a guy who started as a salesman would end up running this huge wrestling empire? It’s a real rags-to-riches story, but with a lot more drama and, well, wrestling.
This Netflix documentary is a must-watch, and I’ve spent a lot of time looking into this. I’m telling you, if you’re into wrestling or even just crazy life stories, you gotta check this out. It’s a wild ride!
